Gas and pellet flow in a grate-kiln machine

The question was how gas should be introduced at the transfer from the grate to the kiln to get as much effective gas and particle exchange as possible.

We modeled the material flow through the transfer chute and the gas flow at elevated temperature, then coupled the two to see the combined effect. The work is covered by a confidentiality agreement.
